The agriturismo Tenuta del Perugino is located inside the farm estate La Mora with a part of the land in the municipality of Bettona (known for the production of wine and olive oil), with 2800 olive trees producing our excellent olive oil, the other part of the land is in the municipality of Cannara (known for it's onions and vernaccia wines) with 150 olive trees, 4,5 h of organic vineyard and small farm animals, pigs and sheep. All and is part of the geographical area of the Martani Hills.
Inside the agriturismo you may buy our produce like olive oil, wine, legumes and other products part of our territory coming from farms we've carefully chosen.
EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Production area: territory Bettona/Cannara
Olive varieties: Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo and Ascolana
Harvest period: starting last week in October
Harvest is manual in order to guarantee a good oil, whereas a correct pressing, without leaves, avoids bitterness. Cold pressing, which means stirring the olives under controlled temperature, produces an olive oil with lower acidity than the traditional ones. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is fragrant and elegant in taste, ideal for adding to typical Umbrian dishes. The colour is of intense green, taste is fruity, fragrant ans slightly bitter.
Sizes: Bottles from ml. 500, 750. Tins of 3 and 5 litres.
To be combined with: It is excellent to increase flavours of dishes, ideal with fresh greens, on pasta and roast meat.
Montefalco Rosso - DOC
Grape varieties: Sangiovese 60%, Barbera 30%, Sagrantino 10%
Vinification: traditional red.
Colour: ruby red, tending to garnet with ageing.
Perfume: spicy with woody tones and a hint of red berries.
To be combined with: red meats, cold hams and salami, cheeses.
Montefalco Sagrantino - DOCG
Grape varieties: Sagrantino 100%
Vinification: the vine is cultivated in a balanced way to allow the grapes, which are picked by hand, to ripen well. They are left to maccerate for a few days.
Colour: ruby red with hints pomegranate.
Perfume: intense and fruity, with hints of woodland groundcover.
To be combined with: game and mature cheeses.
Colli Martani Grechetto - DOC
Grape varieties: Grechetto 100%
Vinification: white, with fermentation at 18°C.
Colour: bright straw colour, brightness varies from year to year.
Perfume: delightfully fruity, intense, characteristic.
To be combined with: fish, white meat, fresh cheeses.
Urvinum Rosso dell'Umbria - IGT
Grape varieties: Sangiovese, Cabernet
Vinification: traditional red.
Colour: bright ruby red.
Perfume: young, fine and fruity.
To be combined with: typical Italian pasta dishes, boiled meats, fresh cheese.
Urvinum Bianco dell'Umbria - IGT
Grape varieties: Trebbiano, Grechetto.
Vinification: white, with fermentation at 16°C.
Colour: straw-coloured whith greenish tones.
Perfume: fruity, fragrant, young.
To be combined with: starters, fish, white meat.
